Tom Lauhon

President & Inspector

American Residential Inspections, Inc.

Tom has been inspecting homes full time since 1989.  He was the first home inspector in Leavenworth, KS.  Since that time Tom has performed thousands of inspections and has become nationally known for his expertise and professionalism in both residential and commercial inspections.  Tom has been active in the profession on the regional as-well-as the national levels.  He holds membership in the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). In the past, Tom has been called upon by ASHI to be the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, which is the voice of over 6000 members to the ASHI Board of Directors.

In 1993 Tom noticed the lack of education and professionalism in the home inspection marketplace.  He then began the Midwest Inspectors Institute (MII), a center for entry level as-well-as continuing education for the inspection industry.  Since that time MII has become one of the most respected educational institutions in the industry.

Tom has the strong belief that a home is bought for the family with your heart, and it is his job to educate the buyer in the purchasing decision. He wants to ensure that he educates the buyer on the condition of the home, to help eliminate surprises after closing in relation to the structural and mechanical properties of the home.
